MICROSCOPY SCI-ART

SKETCH SCI-ART

CellfieSketch_edited.jpg

I've recently started exploring some new ways to digitally manipulate my microscopy images to create sketch-like Sci-Art. Really enjoying the results.

MY SCIENCE

Hear about my research in this short video from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Post Doc Slam.

The Post Doc Slam challenges postdocs to present their science in 3 minutes, using language that both their peers & non-specialists will understand.

ABOUT ME...

A SCIENTIST with a passion for MICROSCOPYART

I am a Research Assistant Professor at NYU Langone Health with > 10 years of experience in STEM CELLS & DEVELOPMENTAL BIOLOGY. One of my favorite places to be is at the microscope where I capture images of living systems in order to better understand how they function.

I also use these images to create microscopy-based "Sci-Art". By juxtaposing everyday scenes & objects alongside unfamiliar scientific matters, I hope to arouse intrigue & inspire people to understand what they are looking at with the aim of attracting a broader audience to think about & discuss science.

On this site you will find:

- my Sci-Art images

- some development-related educational content

- protocols to stain cells & mouse embryos
